MIEN- PART OF INVISIBLE BRIDGES

Invisible Bridges is a Art Book Project. A collection of 30 texts will be written by Xelís de Toro in Galician and translated into English, with two collaborative texts emerging from poetry surgeries held with the general public.

A group of more than ten artists will then each select a text and create work in their own artistic practice, for example film, visual arts, dance, performance. The bilingual collections of texts and supporting DVD incorporating the original art work of the collaborating artists, will be published in May 2012 by Pighog Press as part of their collection of international writers. INVISIBLE BRIDGES-The Exhibition

This exhibition showcases the work by the 14 artists commissioned in the book project Invisible Bridges (described more in the post below) that produced a unique response to the English and Galician texts by writer and performer Xelís de Toro. The exhibition features film, installation, illustration, photography, sound, invention, painting and more besides, all of which are included in the newly published book and DVD, available to buy in Gallery.

CHOREODROME EXPLORATION

A short extract from a site specific duet with Eva Recacha and Igor Urzelai in Choreodrome Explorations. I made this film as a part of the performance.

ME AND EDITING- EXPLORATION

My own process and exploration for a long time has been to set up the camera on a tripod to film a short improvisations, to use a simple white wall as a backdrop and to explore the notion of a still frame. The challenging was to be able to edit what was captured on camera to create the new choreography and essence. No retakes, only the captured material.
