Performative Exhibition Galleri Syster

In this project The Twin Factory invite you to embark on a participatory performance installation. This piece will be created in a 9 days residency at Galleri Syster, Lulea, Sweden. The work will be a response to the place, the surroundings and the meeting between the three artists. The audience are lead through a landscape of film, photography and live performance. For this work they are collaborating with Lulea based Multidisciplinary Artist Yessiqa Lovbrand.

ANNA KARENINA

Film Director Joe Wright
Choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui

I worked as a dancer in the new coming film adaptation of Anna Karenina by film Director Joe Wright (Atonement, Hanna, Pride & Prejudice). The choreographer was Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui.

I am feeling very lucky and grateful to have worked with two very talented creators, and alongside very wonderful dancers, actors and crew.

A Small Museum of Displaced Sea

For this year's May Fringe Festival in Brighton, The Karavan Ensemble are commissioned by Nightingale Theatre for the project Dip Your Toe, in which they will be turning a reconstructed bathing machine into a museum and an outdoor performance venue.

As an icon of Victorian British seaside culture, the bathing machine may seem an odd custom to today’s generation of seaside visitors, yet it still holds an important place in the cultural memory of Brighton’s seafront as well as other coastal / sea side cities in the U.K. In A Small Museum of Displaced Sea, the reconstructed bathing machine acts as a metaphor, linking sea to coast and past to present.

Below is a film from the 1st show. The piece was performed and continuously progressed and developed all throughout every weekend in May. A film by Eighth Tower Productions. (I did not perform in this version, but I join the ensemble towards the last performance)

Dani Karavan Ma'alot  Museum Ludwig, Cologne

Ma'alot is a work made by artist Dani Karavan.

Dani is an Israeli sculptor best known for site specific memorials and monuments which merge into the environment, though he has made important installations as well as other significant contributions to art and architecture.

Ma'alot extends from the Cologne Cathedral through the Museum Ludwig, designed by the architects Peter Busmann and Godfrid Haberer, down to the Rhine.

The Karavan Ensemble were performing on Ma'alot in a 25 years-celebration event of this work and the building of Ludwig Museum. It was an honour and pleasure to be apart of this event and to meet the artist and architects and to hear about the history, creation processes and ideas to the standing work 25 years later.

Residency at Kolballe Germany
The Karavan Ensemble embark upon their 8day residency in Koln, Germany with KolbFabrik, an artist community established 25 years ago from a jumble of narly old caravans.  During September it hosts the festival Cityleaks, exhibiting artworks of many residents, local artists and featuring performances by The Karavan Ensemble. Building on the recent success of Anima, the Ensemble are devising a new site-responsive piece of work for Kolbfabrik and all it's myriad objects and spaces. The piece was inspired and worked with the theme of recycling.. of emotions, thoughts, stories, ideas, objects and time. Photo Claire Wearn

A LIGHT THROUGH THE NIGHT

A Karavan Ensemble Production
A Light Through the Night “…we arrived and watched an avant-garde dance in which women with the long gowns and opiated stares of Edgar Allan Poe heroines performed with a series of household lamps (…) Dreamlike as well as surreal, it suggested the sort of obsession that strikes in the small hours.”    The Guardian

POWDER FACTORY

A spectacle that explores the mediation of technology upon scientific hypotheses, and make believe. Loosely based on the photographs of Dr.Charcot and narrated by David Attenborough.

Set inside a freestanding examination tent, combining elements of stop motion animation, installation, live performance and avant-garde circus. The Powder Factory echoes Victorian Scientific expositions and natural museums in a 40-minute expose of artifice and performing specimen.

Created and directed by Geneva Foster Gluck

Performed by Dominique Baron-Bonarjee, Sophie Edmonds, Geneva Foster Gluck, Linda Remahl and Margarita Zafrilla Olayo

THE FAIRY QUEEN-An Opera
Henry Purcell's opera The Fairy Queen in Warwick at The Dream Factory.

A production is collaboration between Armonico Consort, Orchestra of the Baroque, Generator Ensemble and Playbox Theatre Company and is the first opera to be staged at the theatre since it opened in 1999. The production brings together world-class soloists, artists and dancers, and circus artists in what may well be termed an Opera-Circus.

Directed by Stewart McGill and Music Director Christopher Monks, the Artistic Directors of Playbox Theatre Company and Armonico Consort share the creative captainship of this exciting collaboration

Kate Unwin (designs), Marie Gabrielle-Rotie (movement and choreography), Charlotte Gallet (circus training and direction), Ian Roberts (lighting design).

MUTATION- Marie Gabrielle Rotie

This production inaugurated Marie Gabrielle's all female group 'company coelacanth'. who she trained intensively in Butoh techniques for this performance.

Mutations draws upon embryological imagery and evolutionary theory to reflect upon birth and human/animal parallels. Projections of specimens in formaldehyde fuse bodes that, inside an imaginary
